Ariel Nevills was found dead at her home. She was 7 months pregnant.

A man aged 29, said to have been dating Ariel, initially admitted to strangling her “two different ways to kill her and their unborn child,” with “both hands around the neck and his forearm.”

Police said she also suffered stab wounds.

He was upset that Ariel got pregnant and wanted to keep the baby.

“She did it to herself. I told her this is the way. I had a beautiful future set up for us. She wanted to act crazy. She chose this. It didn’t have to be this way.”

Ariel worked as a millwright. She was an Indiana native who served in the Army Reserve and cared for her four siblings.
