Edith Castrejon was shot and killed by her boyfriend. He had been sleeping with a gun under his pillow at the time. When she reached over and grabbed the gun, he woke up and shot her in the chest.
Prosecutors have said her three children were sleeping in the same room at the time of the shooting.

Edith was five months pregnant at the time, and doctors were able to deliver her baby, named Jesus. Sadly he died at 7 days old.
