Kani Abdollahi was stabbed and killed by her father.

While local media initially reported the killing was motivated by “honor” over the teen’s relationship with a boy, Police cited “family disputes” as the reason given by the father.

Kani had dropped out of school to work on her family’s farm. Her cousin Farzaneh was also killed by her father last year under similar circumstances, but her death was officially recorded as a suicide.
