Menghan was found dead in her apartment.

She had suffered several injuries to her upper body.

An investigation revealed Menghan had a “male companion” who arrived at her home the night before. Surveillance shows that man exiting through her bedroom window the afternoon of the day she was discovered dead.

Known to many as Emily King, was a talented young artist and a senior undergraduate at the California Institute of the Arts. Originally from mainland China, she moved to the US on a student visa to pursue her passion for art, immersing herself in the vibrant creative world of CalArts.
