Makyla was shot and killed in her home. She was pregnant.

Initially, the father of the child claimed she shot herself while playing with a gun.

However, after further interviews, he then admitted to accidentally shooting Makyla, stating that when he took the gun from her it discharged.

Makyla was a sophomore at Jackson Central Merry High School.

“She loved life. She believed every day was meant to be filled with joy and a good time.”
